Download the template below. Please do not scale down the template size. Scaling up to fit your medium is fine.
- Notice how the football player's shoulders pass through the WIDE lines and his waist passes through the THIN lines. Ensure your line art extends through either the THIN, WIDE, or BOTH margins wherever cards connect. This ensures they will fit the line art of other cards.
- If you're submitting a layered file (PSD, Procreate, etc.), please separate your character line art, character color, background line art, and background color, four separate layers. This makes everything much easier. Thank you!
- If you have a character holding an item (like the football, or the death god's scepter), please keep the item(s) illustrated on a single card.

Download the template
Print it out and trace over it, or drop it into Procreate, Illustrator, or Photoshop as a guide layer and draw on your own layers above it. Just make sure your lines cross the WIDE or THIN marks where the cards meet, and run your background past the bleed line so nothing gets cut off.

All artists with art in the game will be sent an affiliate link where they can help promote the game and earn 15% of everything pledged through it.

- Can I submit only one card?
- Sure!
- What about a two-card build?
- Absolutely!
- What about 4 or more cards in a build?
- YES! And feel free to send us a sketch first if you have any concerns about how it would play.
- Can I submit more than one build?
- For sure. No limit on our end.
- Can I work traditionally?
- Absolutely. We recommend printing the template and holding it against a window or a light box, so you can draw your character to the proportions without the template itself showing up in your scan. Send it to us at 300 DPI and at least 8 inches tall.
- Can I use AI?
- Haha. Gross. No.
- Does it have to be a character?
- Not necessarily, but keep in mind it has to work with cards that are characters. A bucket thrown over someone's head, a potato sack they're using as pants. Straight inanimate objects tend to get weird unless you know how to make it work.
- Do I write the ability and the stats, or do you?
- You don't gotta worry about any of that. But if you want your character to have a specific kind of ability, or you have a backstory in mind, put it in your submission and we'll take it into consideration when we work out their powers.
- Can I pick the Force and the tribe?
- We'd love to hear your idea. As long as it makes sense, sure!
- Who decides what cards make it into the game?
- Reach out! Eric is the guy behind the scenes, and he's happy to work with you to make sure your character works perfectly in-game.
- Is there a deadline?
- As of now, no strict deadline. We can't promise your cards make it into a set, but if you miss the window for the next pressing we'll hold on to them for the one after that.
- How long until I hear back?
- We audit new submissions at the end of every month. If your cards are going to print, we'll let you know.
- Do I get paid?
- Here's exactly what you get: your card, copies of it, booster packs, your name printed on it, and you keep the copyright to your character. Every artist in the game also gets an affiliate link for the Kickstarter, and you earn 15% of whatever is pledged through yours. No cash up front on this first run. Artists will be the first to know if that changes.
- Do I keep the original artwork, and can I sell prints of it?
- Yes. You keep the IP and the copyright to your character.
- Can I draw an existing character?
- Just don't get yourself or us sued. Since you're asking the question, read up on parody and fair use.
- Can I draw a real person?
- Yes. Again, just don't get yourself or us sued.
- How explicit can it get?
- We would love to see what goes on in that dirty little head of yours, you weirdo. No promises it gets used, but we have been talking about an EXXXQUISITE Pack for years. Just reach out if you a certified freak.
- Can I post my submission before the game prints?
- Yes indeed. Feel free to tag us: @playexquisite.
- How should my name be printed on the card?
- Tell us how you want it to read and we'll print it in the bottom right corner. Some artists like to work their own little tag into the art too. If you do, keep it on a separate layer, because we may have to move it when game information covers it.
- Can two artists submit one build together?
- No one has done that yet, but it sounds awesome.
- Can I submit from outside the US? Is there an age limit?
- Anywhere in the world, doesn't matter where you are. The only rule is age: you have to be 18 to agree to the terms on your own. Under 18 is still a yes, we just need a parent or guardian to read the terms and submit with you. Get in touch and we'll sort it out.
